Singapore adventure log: The badminton ride

Let's face it, here in Singapore, everybody's a robot. We all go to work, go home, cook dinner, sleep then go to work again the next day. 

Recently, our boss suddenly had a change of heart and wanted us employees to live a "balanced" work life, so off he went to schedule a badminton session for us employees for us to have an out of office bonding session, no work, all play for a day. The bad thing, he scheduled it at 9am, it's just like going to work on a saturday! 

So off I went and cycled all the way from Clementi to Bukit Gombak sports hall to play badminton, And I took the liberty of exploring the the Bukit Batok, bukit gombak area, and I was surprised to find a lot of beautiful nature spots around the area!

Singapore adventure log: Cycling from Clementi to Orchard road

Date: January 24, 2011

It was the last day of the Chinese New Year holidays here in Singapore. All the malls are closed, groceries, food stalls etc., everything was closed. So Gee and I rode our bikes and explored Singapore in 2 wheels, the destination, the very famous shopping strip Orchard road.

It was a 21 km all road ride from our flat in Clementi. I recently discovered a shortcut from Queensway to the city during one of my solo rides. It took us just 36 minutes to get to Orchard with the help of the shortcut, if we did not pass that way, it could have been an hour ++.

DIY Project: Lightbox Photography

I was organizing my Joes one lazy saturday, As I go about organizing them into different classes of my "Joe-verse", I tried playing with some of them. For old collectors like I am, "playing" meant making some action poses, since we aint 5 years old anymore. Then it hit me, why not make a "Lightbox" for me to shoot my joes at?

I immediately called my Photographer friend Mario Mundo then asked about the things I need in order to make one. So I hurriedly rushed to Shangrila Mall in ortigas and grabbed some stuff from National Bookstore and spent a few hours working on my DIY lightbox.. Here's the result of my 2-hour labor!

Ladies and gentlemen, here's the results! I think they're still a little dark though.. need more lights soon!
